New Work, New Media  Updated 7 June 2008
Glenna has been exploring a new media! After dozens of experiments, a few workshops, and a portfolio class, a new body of work is born. Glenna showed a few prototypes to other artists and a show promoter in May. Another round of new pieces will be making the trip to Chicago next week. Come by the Wells Street Art Fair in Chicago on Friday or Saturday, June 14 and 15, to see them. Glenna will have her usual work on display near North Avenue and Wells Street in the same booth location as the past couple of years. She will also have a handful of examples of her new work.

What's the new media? Fresco. Glenna is working with interesting techniques that put her photographs into a cast marble material. The result looks aged and full of character. It works very well with a new series of intriguing moody images. The three images here are samples of the new media that will be in her booth in Chicago. Glenna is looking forward to feedback on these new works, so be sure to come by, have a look, and tell her what you think.

Teaching a Class  Updated 12 November 2007
Glenna will be teaching a class in North Andover, Massachusets this coming January. Andovers Artists Guild is sponsoring a series of one day classes or seminars for artists. You do not have to be a member of the guild to take a class. Check this page or watch for an item in the main menu for any future scheduled classes that Glenna teaches. If you would like to see Glenna teach a class in your area, drop her a note.

Life on the Road: Chance Meeting in the Everglades  Updated 14 April 2007
Earlier this year, Glenna and Mark spent 10 days in Florida for art fairs in West Palm Peach and Naples. After relaxing in Miami, we were making the trip across the Everglades on Route 41 in Glenna's Sprinter. As we pulled into a park facility, Glenna said, "We should park next to that other Sprinter just for fun." Mark said, "That looks like Greg's Sprinter from San Francisco." Just then we were close enough to see the door open and Glenna exclaimed, "It is Greg!" Fellow photographer Greg Gawlowski was in Florida between art fairs too. None of us had hotel reservations that night so ended up at the same hotel in Everglades City and enjoyed a nice dinner together. You can see Greg's wonderful travel photography at www.fourseasonspress.com.

New Series of Musical Instruments  Updated 18 November 2006
Glenna has been working through the summer and fall on the beginning of a new body of work. She has started applying many of the same techniques to an exploration of the world of music. The first images are from a guitar, banjo and mandolin. Check back to see this series expand with brass and woodwinds. Drop her a note to let her know how you like them.

Glenna's West Coast Trip  Updated 9 July 2006
We just can't keep Glenna away from the West Coast. She will close out the month of July with an appearance at one of our favorite art fairs, Bellevue's Festival of the Arts, in Bellevue, Washington. Then it's down to to the Sea Ranch Lodge to hang her third exhibit there. Off to Park City, Utah for the Kimball Arts Festival on August 5 and 6. We'll get to catch up with some of our favorite artist friends there. The opening reception at the Sea Ranch Lodge will be the evening of August 11. Finally, the only San Francisco Bay area art fair this year is the Burlingame Art and Jazz Festival on August 12 and 13.

Glenna's Work is in Jennifer Aniston's New Movie!  Updated 2 June 2006
The new Jennifer Aniston movie, The Break-Up, opened today, June 2. If you watch it carefully, you can see some of Glenna's pictures hanging on the walls of the apartment!
Between the living room and the kitchen, you'll see Exotic. Near a corner of the bedroom, you'll see Subtle Hues. In the hilarious dinner party scene, watch closely and you'll catch a fleeting glimpse of Striae.
We had a great time going see the movie and looking for all the pictures. And even better to see Glenna's reaction when the credit for her photographs showed up larger than she expected.

Relocating to New Hampshire!  Updated 17 Nov 2005
In the middle of December, Glenna and her husband and the two cats will be headed to Manchester, New Hampshire. Glenna's husband, Mark, has been transferred to the Autodesk offices there. Glenna's last weekend art fair in California will be the Celebration of Craftswomen at Fort Mason on Thanksgiving weekend. She will also be at the Crocker Galleria's Celebration of the Arts on Wednesday's through December 14. Of course, she may be back for California art fairs in the future, but that is at the whim of the juries for the largest shows.

If you are ordering photographs for holiday gifts, please get your order in early as we will may not be able to ship very quickly after December 18.
